Midget class meeting held on 20 August 2013

CHD OVAL TRACK RACING: MIDGET CLUB CLASS RULES FOR 2013/2014 SEASON
Floor is ok with scrutineering on a Thursday night – time is limited on race day.
Andre is awaiting approval from MSA & WPMC
Scrutineers this season Johan Pool, Donovan Allan, Llewellyn Royine
Visiting drivers – race within CHD rules for points & trophie
Andre will NOT overrule a COC decision unless it is a safety issue or oil on the track
Class captains suggested – drivers not interested.
Mr Miller (Damian’s dad) makes his premises available for drivers to bring their cars to check the noise level & to be checked by the scrutineer
Nationals – nobody interested at this stage

Please note that only the exceptions to the rules according to MSA are noted. If not mentioned, the MSA rule will apply
Methanol will be allowed
a. No restriction on engine capacity but no turbo or superchargers will be allowed.
Only normal aspirator will be allowed
b. 13B rotary’s will be allowed
c. Peripheral port is allowed
d. No custom built engines without bell housing points except, eg Carlo’s car, “Mopar” is allowed to race with any driver in it, provided it doesn’t replace a car currently in the Club
e. Must be amoligated engine
f. No cc limitations
g. No valve restrictions
h. Must be a 4 cylinder engine
a. Minimum of 500kg (with driver)
b. Committee has the mandate to weigh the car at any time
c. If driving without the wing the car must still adhere to weight rule
a. Heat 1 – draw
b. Heat 2 – pole invert
c. Heat 3 – draw
d. Final – according to club points before the start of the event – most points at the back
e. For the 1st event of the season the final will be according to total points scored in heat 1, 2 and 3 – most points at the back
At scrutineering if you cannot make it in time you need to contact the committee to let us know that you will be late so that we can enter & draw for you. If you do not notify us you will start at the back of the grid for 4 ALL races including the final for the evening
Drivers can use the tyres they have
Maximum – 105 decibels
a. This can only be applied on weight of car
b. On first offence – lose total points accrued up to date
c. Second offence – lose total points accrued and pay R1000.00 fine to club
i. Driver will not be allowed to take part in any oval track racing under A number
at CHD or any club until the fine has been paid
d. Third offence – lose total points accrued and be excluded from any oval track racing under A number at CHD or any club for 120 calendar days as from date of finding
i. Driver will not be allowed to change clubs while under suspension
e. If any driver is unhappy with the COC or Race controller, please inform the committee in writing. Do not argue with the COC or Race controllers in front of the public
COC can use the DVD to make final decision.
No further steps will be taken once the COC has made his / her decision
1st offence: Warning
2nd offence: Black flag – excluded for the night
Driver will be liable for a R1000.00 fine for any oil spilled onto the track & he/she will not be allowed to enter the next event before the fine has been paid or arrangements have been made with the committee.
